Adjunct Professor Jane Fox is a career nurse with 49 years of nursing experience under her belt. Reflecting on her 8 years of teaching at BYU, Adjunct Professor Jane Fox says, “this is one of the funnest jobs I have ever had.”

Bryce Lewis has had substantial international experience, and his love of other cultures and languages has fundamentally shaped him as a practitioner of the Healer’s art.

Many people understand that hair loss is a common side effect of chemotherapy. However, it is a lesser-known fact that chemotherapy also causes neuropathy, a condition that makes areas of the body (like the scalp) very sensitive. As such, many chemo patients forgo wearing traditional wigs as they irritate delicate scalps.

On February 24, second-year family nurse practitioner (FNP) students gathered to present their research theses, but there was a catch—they only had three minutes to do it.

On February 2 and 9, BYU nursing students participated in the annual poverty simulation. The simulation is designed to help students better understand the challenges and compounding stressors that people in poverty experience.

BYU FNP students head to the Utah State Capitol and engage in the legislative process. As special guests, they sit on the floors of the Senate and the House of Representatives to discuss healthcare bills and policy. Through their experience, they learn the importance of nursing professionals' advocacy for patients within legislation.

This semester, BYU College of Nursing welcomed its largest cohort ever. These student nurses, 72 strong, met for the program’s New Student Orientation (NSO) on January 6. There, they got to meet and hear from college faculty who helped prepare them for a busy semester.
