The College of Nursing would like to introduce and welcome Rachel Platt as a new staff member! She is taking on the role of clinical site supervisor and will specifically work with graduate students.
Rachel has a background in education and has worked in the past as a third-grade teacher and as a bookkeeper. When she saw the job posting for BYU College of Nursing, she felt it was the right place for her. She loves working with students and is excited about the positive environment created by excellent students and faculty at BYU.
As a clinical supervisor, she will be responsible for outreach to clinicals and communicating with doctors and nurses. She will organize student placements and all the preparation needed to get nursing students into clinicals. Rachel wants students to know that her job is to serve. She said, “I want to help students in their education journey however I can. I am happy to help!”
When Rachel is not working, she loves to spend time with her husband and six kids. As a family, they like to go on hikes and complete puzzles. She said, “I’ve always got a puzzle on my kitchen island that we work on in our spare time. It’s a great place to have conversations and spend time together.” Rachel is also a part of multiple book clubs and loves to read.
Once again, the College of Nursing is so happy to welcome Rachel Platt. Make sure to say hi if you see her in the Kimball, and reach out if you need help!
