Beyond the Body: Why Spiritual Care Matters
Several years ago, BYU College of Nursing Professor Brandon Thatcher noticed a pattern among his students: many were having amazing spiritual experiences with their clinical patients. Reflecting on this observation, he was inspired to investigate how and when BYU students were spiritually caring for patients. After talking with fellow faculty member Dr. Janelle Macintosh, the two began gathering data from graduating seniors and analyzing the thought process behind their spiritual care.

2025 Symposium - Graduate Students Share Advice on Finding the Right Job Post-Graduation
During the 2025 Symposium, students had the chance to hear from Dr. Neil Peterson and three current Family Nurse Practitioner graduate program students about how to find the best job after graduation. The students, Susy Vega, DeeDee Long, and Saul Villalobos, have had diverse experiences in nursing ranging from hospital positions to working in public schools and private nursing. With their knowledge and the wisdom of hindsight, they were able to counsel current undergraduates in their search for the right career.
